Mid-2011
A1370 (EMC 2471)
MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.6 11" (Mid-2011) 1.6 GHz Core i5 (I5-2467M)

I can read the EFI, edit it but it will not write back. If I try to write the original file back, it say that it is the same file and won't write it.

OK, the solution for my issue was I wasn't getting enough power to the Raspberry PI. I bought a 5v 2.1amp 4 port USB hub. I ran the usual steps and it wrote the file and verified it! I am one happy camper!! :cheer:

If I helped you buy me a latte!

What programmer are you using?
Slight possibility that the chip isn't correctly detected and write protect remains on.

Real good seating... I had the same thought once when I was using the clip and ran into the same problem.
Either it's a SOP8 or WSON chip, they have a write protect. I never ran into such problem again after I started desoldering the chips.

Anyway, you think or you know that you have GOOD contacts to all pins?
If you know for a fact that you connected the chip properly and your Pi is sending out a write protect OFF, then the chip is messed up.

If the chip is good, then check:
1. Clip connection to the chip
2. Every Clip's wire at both ends with a multimeter
3. The pinout of your Pi to match the one in the tutorial
4. That flashrom you are using supports your chip model.
5. That you are following and understanding properly the tutorial

If you're sure everything is physically functioning, then double check flasher's version. Miracles don't apply here.

I think this is the one we were chatting about right? Well the only other thing I think we have not checked is the actual pinout of this chip to the header on the board. It would be great if you could get me the pinout of every pad/leg of the chip to the header and a couple HD images of both. I will add support for it in the next chip version if it is not currently supported.

Hi Guys,
I am facing the same trouble reading M25L6406E on MBA 2011 emc 2471.
I am using a TL866a programmer and easy flash adapter v4.0.1, known to have a good reputation as i was to do read a lot of EFI's.
I've tried to read with the power supply plugged and battery too, remove them, nothing !
I am using Miniprogrammer v6.50 software

Do you have any clue ?

Thanks.
