Yo new member, first time poster. Love what I'm seeing here though.

I purchased a used iMac and I can boot into the OS fine. I needed to do some disk repairs and other trouble shooting so I went to boot into recovery mode and I'm presented with the dreaded firmware password box. I've looked over some tutorials here and there but they all seem out of date. Has anyone successfully removed the startup security password on a 2015 or newer iMac without soldering? I found some places that will replace the EFI chip, and some directions on how to do it myself but I don't feel confident soldering the QNF style chips.  They don't have leads to connect a SOIC clip like previous models Any other ideas?
