Hello guys, noob guy here!
First of all I want to congratulate and thank you for your research, dedicated work and shared knowledge.
I've managed to EFI and iCloud lock a MacBook Air 1.6 i5 Early 2015 ed. (A1466 EMC 2925)(due to lack of knowledge and pure stupidity) I found you guys after some extended googling.
From what info I've gathered here I came up with the following options:
  1. Rewrite EFI with passwordless BIN (using thaGHOST's Easyflash/legacy hot air removal/wire to pins soldering)
  2. -for this I kindly ask anyone to share a firmware dump for this MBA model
  3. Clear NVRAM
  4. Reinstall OS X using external media
  5. Use token.paul's Recovery HD hack, but I don't have SSD to SATA adapter or other Mac.
  6. -because I'm afraid using Recovery Mode -> Reinstall OS X will lock me out again after I grant WiFi internet access
Please correct me if I'm wrong and ... can I have a firmware dump please? :)
Any input is very much appreciated.
X

The best way to do this is to fully remove the password via flashing the EFI chip. You need to use your dump and modify it if at all possible! if you can dump the firmware and drop it on the forum I can modify it for you, or you can use token.paul's tutorial and script to do it.

Thank you for your feedback thaGHOST.
Do you know if your EasyFlash fits into the EFI socket on this MBA model? Or if the header/pin layout match?

Yes it should, but the 1466 models are spotty because the chip usually installed on the logic board requires the WP pin to be set to high (3.3v) e.g. it will not be recognized without it. There is a via connected to the 3.3v pin on the clip that you can solder a wire to and probe that point on the board that connect to WP though. Unfortunately the clips are all sold out atm until I release the new model.

I see.
I will make time to take the bottom cover off and take a pic of the socket and post it here, to be sure.
Do you have an ETA till the new version and batch are done?
PS: What does "WP pin" mean? :)
Thank you,

WP is the Write Protect pin/leg of the chip. The new clips are still WIP.

I've took pictures of the EFI connector. Didn't take the logic board out yet to check the WSON chip.
My question here is why does the connector have 16 pins when the WSON chip has 8?
Also, is the clip on the MBA Easy Flash compatible with the one pictured?
Thank you,
X

Yea that's a good example of the new header that i have to identify the part # for. The MBA Easy Flash doen't work for this header.

I was hoping that the new MBA Easy Flash will support this new header :(
Looks like I will just have to wait some more until Ghost adapts the clip, or at least until someone identifies the pinout for this new header.

Has the clip been adapted or can anyone point me towards a data sheet that would outline the 16 pins?
Thanks.

i have the same mba a1466 emc2925 or 2015, i have seen some videos where they use another tool like EFIDL , but they use a probe to supply 3.3 v on logicboard, my qyestion is, if i find this 3.3 v to supply logic board, EFIDL is still able to remove efi lock at this kind of mba ?
