820-3332 - help editing serial no.

I need help editing the serial number of this eBay board that i bought to match the serial number to the one on the bottom cover.
The system serial number has become "not available" after editing the SPI ROM. the board can read original serial number but not the new one.

this usually works for me but not this time....

This is what I've done so far: I removed the ROM from the eBay board and put it into my EPROM programmer. I then used that to dump the ROM and opened the resulting file in a hex editor. I located the eBay board serial number in the file and changed it to the desired number. I made sure not to add any extra spaces or anything, and made sure the string was still located at the same offsets as the original. I saved the file and wrote it back onto the ROM. i have even tried just writing zeros then use Blank Board Serializer to write the number that way, but it just had an error and wouldn't do anything.

This is the ROM, ME region is all good, just want the serial number to change:

edite@i've just checked thru Hexedit, it is a completely different firmware. this firmware has the serial number and cleaned ME?.

serial number didn't work properly. it says system serial unavailable in ASD. in OSX serial number works fine, just like my method. original ROM show serial number in ASD and OSX. any idea?

I have modified your 3.bin BIOS dump and changed serial to C02JC22TDKQ4 for you. Have a try.

serial is still not showing in ASD. dont really know why. i guess it will have to live with the original serial number.

I know how to do it. I have written an automated patcher to do this. But don`t ask, i will not publish it. This forum becomes a f** joke over the time, like a basar, only selling money money....
