Has anyone tried that already?

Do we know anything about that chip, the HITACHI F2117LP20H?

Thanks in advance.

i haven't tried, but i've always wondered about it. i've had several MacBooks with corrupt SMC.

i have old logic boards with bad GPU, i should try to read the SMC

watch this video and see if you can make out the markings on the chip?

Hi,

Thanks for answering.
I did watched that video and I also did replace an SMC once.
Luckily it worked as the SMC was fine.

However since we may not be lucky with every SMC, I would like to buy them new and program them as the same we would do for a Bios chip.

I know, even Louis do not know how to do that yet but if you guys at Ghostlyhaks have infos on that, it would be great.

I was hoping you could help me identify the writing on the chip in the video. The first step is identifying all SMC chips in MacBooks like we have already determined the EFI chips.

Only then can we create a universal process ad then tutorial.

I have many things on my plate right now, but I wouldn't mind having a serving of that too...

I have a 2.53ghz c2d logic board that is spare and I would be interested in locating, pulling, and playing with the chip but I cannot locate the hitachi chip you mentioned. There are several BGAs with different markings.

Hello I am also interested in this topic, what do you think if we take it back and start research together? For us it is essential this type of programming,

regards

He managed to do it...but that involved removal and re-balling etc.
