Trouble reading A1286 EMC 2417

New to this. I successfully did another model, but two different machines this model and EMC are giving me trouble. I plugged the magsafe to the unit to give it power otherwise the reader give me an error. Once I do have power and click read, it reads through and says read successful. Then opening the file in Notepad++, it appears as if it only read a tiny bit of the bios. There is not the 30000+ lines. There is no $SVS or HWC. What the heck am I doing wrong?
