I need some help with getting rid of the bios code. The complete . I extracted the data from the bios chip but dont know what to remove from which line in hex editor.. can somebody help me

Hi,
your first option will be to upload bios dump, someone in the forum may help by patching your file.

Hi,
I need some help with clearing the bios password from a Hp 640 g2.
First, i dont really understand how do I get the BIOS dump file, do I need a eeprom programmer to read the bios directly from the chip on my motherboard?

Still, can you please explain how am I supposed to flash it? I must be missing something, and i cannot find details by searching.
Also, from bios info i saw that my original file is 4mb, and yours is 8mb, could that be a problem?

You have to program a bios with some kind of programmer. The bios I uploaded is zipped, so its size 8mb ina unpacked bios is 16mb. It's impossible that your bios is 4mb, you made something wrong ...

Regarding the bios size, that is what my BIOS info says (when i hit F1 on boot), 4 mb, from what I understand there are 4mb, 8 mb and 16 mb BIOS on 640 g2. I dont know if it is safe to flash a different size.

In order to connect to the chip I had to remove it from the motherboard, it had power supply issues until then.
In my attempts to connect to the chip while on the motherboard I corrupted the original bios so I dont have an original file.

I flashed with the dump provided, but the laptop does not start, the power led is just blinking, nothing happends if i press the power button.
Could someone help with another clean bios dump? Or could this be a solderring problem (i dont think i did something worng an I am positive the pins make contact with the chip slot)

If it is important i read on the motherboard the code: 6070B0937802 rev 1.03 A01 and the bios chip is MX 25L12873F.

LE: Ok, so I think it was a soldering problem. I resoldered, but the laptop does not post and the fan is running full speed. Could somebody post another clean bios dump?

I have managed to get a bios dump from a similar 640 g2 with password.
Could someone please help clean it? I cannot find VSS area.
