Password is not stored on BIOS chip but inside MECxxxx chip, you need a master password.

By the model number (Latitude E5470) I will say that the code ends with -6FF1, ex.: xxxxxxx-6FF1. This generator has been released, that's why you will find many sellers on eBay and very low pricing, these passwords used to sell for $40 to $55 USD or BestOffer over a year ago.
So just post a picture of password screen showing ServiceTag + suffix, someone will post the corresponding master password.

This Info is incorrect. Password is not only stored in the MEC5075 (288Kb).... Rewriting the MEC results in a system without service tag and still locked...!

MEC5075 (288Kb)? for storing a password, wow!!... the 288KB is for firmware don't you think? and there's an eeprom (within the same MEC chip) where the password and other info is stored, the Service Tag may be stored in the 288KB firmware section too.
Unfortunately there isn't a MEC5075 chip datasheet publicly available, so we are just both guessing.

Dell without ServiceTag (equals) = Dell with NoPassword, or at least that's the way it used to be. There is a dell Asset utility that would clear the computer ServiceTag and hence the system password (and Computrace too), unfortunately utility stopped working on newer models.

@ KingBonecrusher
If "This Info is incorrect"... guess what? please correct it! Maybe you are rewriting the wrong MECxxxx chip, AFAIK there are 2 of these chips in a Dell Latitude xxxx.
Then why would you go through all the hassle of reading/writing one of these MECxxxx chips, when there's already a free generator for it (suffixes: 595B, 2A7B, 1D3B, 1F66 6FF1...).

It should be clear, that there is also software stored in the MEC :P And what this chip does (with his little brother chip) should also be clear, if not ask google. It is the MEC5085 not the MEC5075, my fault! MEC5075 should be used up to latitude xx40 series of dell. Correct, there are two of those chips, excactly:

SMSC KBC MEC5085 & SMSC SIO ECE5048

But the ECE5048 is not programmable. It is not possible because this one has simply no flash. And yes, read the datasheet :evil: The MEC50xx has no secure eeprom area like the MEC1633L.

And no, if you have a password set and you will remove the service tag, the system is still locked like i said. And your keygenerator will cry.... :whistle: This can only be unlocked by a patched bios!
If you clear the service tag, you will need no asset utility. You can set the service tag in the bios itself. You will be forced to set it.

Like i said there is only 1 chip, the kbc ,which can be programmed. So i`am programming the correct chip with the correct factory file. Why i do this?

Because i can...!

I have removed passwords on Thinkpad S1 Yoga 12 by writing the kbc. It`s a KB9022. In this case it will work!

Maybe you have miss understood me.

1) password remove by BIOS patch --> POSSIBLE
2) service tag change by BIOS patch --> DEFINITELY IMPOSSIBLE!

Buy and Try.... :whistle:

But it`s VinaFix, so don`t be mad if you buy shit!

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this solution will not work.

Nobody will proof me wrong? Nobody will buy this vinafix shit and try?
I got a leaked version of the vinafix *solution*. Let me say, never seen shit so expensive sold. :P
And of course it is not working. It is only a bunch of pictures where you can see an hexeditor and you should change the serial inside the dump.

I had time to reproduce what i have done earlier...

Password set on working machine

MEC cleaned afterwards

Password not working from keygen!

For your information, the master password does not always work inside the Setup/bios (a F/W bug?? don't know), this, when only the Setup Password is set, meaning that the System Password is clear and you can still boot Windows or whatever other operating system you prefer.
What do we do in these case (Setup Password=SET, System Password=CLEAR, master password not accepted)?
We download Dell CCTK Utility (CCTK=Client Configuration Tool Kit) and from Windows we set the System Password, once set, we reboot computer without entering Setup/bios and type the master password at screen that reads:
"This computer system: #xxxxxxx-1F66, is protected by a password authentication system..." <<- System Password prompt
At this screen the master password works 10 out of 10 times**.

So by looking at the pictures you have posted (Setup Password prompt), I would suggest to try the master password at the System Password prompt. If system password is not set, use Dell CCTK utility and run this command from an "Elevated Command Prompt":
C:\>cctk --syspwd=12345678
- - - - - - - - > where 12345678 would be the (system) password that you choose.
... reboot computer and try again. Give it a try, you will see for yourself.

I've seen this problem more and more often, but setting the System Password makes the difference for the master password to be accepted, 10 out of 10**.

I have right now no windows or a working winpe with cctk. I will try this tomorrow.
For now i have checked to set a system password in the bios, and get this result (very interesting):

My previously original password i have set is also not working. I cannot set a new service tag, field is grayed out... :woohoo:

Got a working WinPE. Like I thought, not working. You should make a accepted 9 out of 10**

UPADTE
Like i said in previous posts, i have fixed the issue by patching the bios. I had some time to write a small patcher...
./repair_dell repair E7440A25.exe dell_e7440_01.bin dell_e7440_02.bin
--> extract hdr from executable
--> old rom structure found
---> dell_e7440_01.bin = main.rom
---> dell_e7440_02.bin = ec.rom
--> creating full rom
--> generating report
--> extracting files from hdr
--> ME REGION START: 00005000 |	ME REGION SIZE: 005FB000
--> BIOS REGION START: 00600000 |	BIOS REGION SIZE: 00600000
----> cleaning me area with: FF
----> cleaning bios area with: FF
----> write new bios 1_System_BIOS_A.25.data
----> write new me 7_Intel_Management_Engine_(Non-VPro)_Update_9.5.60.1952.data
---> rom will be splitted
----> cleaned_01_main.rom | cleaned_02_ec.rom
