This service is for any MacBook (Pro/Air) released during 2015.
If you are not comfortable with removing the EFI password on your Mac, or simply don't think you will ever need the tools you have to buy to do this again; you can have one of our seasoned members do it for you! Apple EFI firmware removal is a pretty easy task for someone who has done it a couple hundred times, so why not let a professional take it from here?
The price to remove the EFI firmware lock is comprised with one main goal in mind. NOT ripping you off like some of the other guys do! If you have made it here then you have likely already seen the outrageous prices upwards of $300, which is way overpriced in my opinion. As such, we offer this service to those of you whom wish to regain functionality of their Mac once again.
Here is the theory behind the prices that we are charging. If you were to do this on your own, following the process in my blog, you would need the following tools: Raspberry Pi, Power Supply, SD Card, Female-to-Female Wires, SOIC 8/MBA Easy Flash Clip, Pentalobe Screwdrivers, and knowledge of ISP/SPI programming. I have taken the liberty of doing a small cost analysis of the tools and came up with what you see below.
Item | Cost |
---|---|
Raspberry Pi | $35 |
Power Supply | $10 |
SD Card | $10 |
Female-to-Female Wires | $3 |
SOIC 8/MBA Easy Flash Clip | $30-70 |
Pentalobe Screwdrivers | $10 |
This is a rough example of the price of each item I got by just searching on Google, not even taking the time to calculate tax or shipping. Our price is less than the cost to buy all of the tools you need on average and the money goes to keeping this site up and running. We are firm believers in free information and plan to try offer that, but need some help keeping the lights on here at GhostlyHaks.com Think of it like a donation that helps keep this site up and running as well as giving you access to your Mac. Some of you may have a few of these items laying around and if you are up for the task I say go get your hands dirty; the others, as I have mentioned before, only want the end result - so why not just leave it to the pros?
This is, in its simplest form, is an unique service we are offering globally because it is such a hot topic. By no means can we account for every situation that may arise. If you are shipping us your logic board it is safe to assume your Mac is no longer under warranty so Apple wont help you, the other guys are just way too expensive, and we are your last ditch effort to recovering your device.
That being said, if your board is damaged in any way, either during transit or during the flash procedure, GhostlyHaks.com and all of it's affiliates are in no way, shape, or form responsible. You will not receive any compensation for any damages, period. We just needed to get that out of the way before someone sends us an already fried logic board expecting a replacement. Although we do not anticipate any mishaps, we always have to cover our tails.
With a successful purchase of this service, you agree to begin a legally binding contractual agreement with GhostlyHaks and any of its subsidiaries. You agree to adhere to both the GhostlyHaks Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We strongly encourage you to read through these policies prior to purchasing.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to unlock your Mac then a full refund will be issued. However, a refund will not be issued under the following circumstances:
When you click add to cart and go through the checkout process you will see a summary of the price plus any taxes or payment fees. The shipping cost covers the return shipping after your EFI Password has been cleared. The turnaround time is greatly dependent on shipping and your customs (if you are outside of the US). The quicker you ship it to us, the quicker we get it back to you! This is all subject to volume of orders, but we usually have a 24-72 hour turnaround time from receiving your device to shipping it back to you.
You have a couple options when it comes to shipping. you can either send us the entire mac, or just the logic board. If you only send us the logic board we may not be able to test our work and make adjustments. This will lead to you having to ship us back your board for re-flash. It is solely up to you how you want to get it to us in the first place, but when it comes to shipping it back to you we would like to protect you in every way we can. There will be a couple options for shipping that may include priority, insurance, and signature so I suggest you choose wisely as these machines are quite expensive as I am sure you are aware.
If you have any questions at any time during the process you are welcome to email us using the contact form at the bottom of the page to get a status update. Alternatively you can go to your orders tab on your profile page to find out the status of your repair and your tracking number for return shipping.
This service is for any Mac Mini model, regardless of the year it was released.
